2021 Hydraulic Analysis for Heritage Road Zone 4 Watermain | Region of Peel, ON, Canada

This project is to conduct a hydraulic analysis for the proposed 600 mm diameter Zone 4 watermain on Heritage Road from Meadowvale Pumping Station (PS) to south of Steeles Avenue West. The proposed 600 mm diameter and 1300 mm long watermain will serve as a sub-transmission main and will be constructed of concrete pressure pipe (CPP). The proposed watermain will connect to the existing 750 mm diameter CPP watermain coming out of Meadowvale PS, existing 300 mm diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) watermain on Edgeware Road, and existing 400 mm diameter CPP watermain on Heritage Road south of Steeles Avenue West. The proposed watermain will serve to twin a section of the existing 400 mm diameter watermain on Heritage Road. 2021 Hydraulic Transient Analysis for Hurontario Street Watermains | Region of Peel, ON, Canada

This project is to assist with the detailed design of the watermain replacement/relocation on Hurontario Street, located in the City of Mississauga, Region of Peel (Region). The water utility relocation component of the overall LRT project comprises the design and replacement of approximately 5.8 km of watermain spanning three pressure zones from north of Lakeshore Road to just north of Elm Drive. The overall location of the proposed watermain replacement is presented via a hydraulic model layout in Figure 1, as well as a street map in Figure 2. The proposed watermains will include connections to the existing distribution system. The 600 mm diameter watermain sections will be constructed using concrete pressure pipe (CPP) whereas the 300 mm diameter watermain sections will be constructed using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. 2020 Hydraulic Transient Analysis for the Lake-Based Water Facilities and Transmission System | Region of Peel, ON, Canada

  The Region's water transmission system is a large and complex network consisting of low-lift and high-lift pumping at the water treatment plants and pumping stations and floating storage at reservoirs and elevated tanks. The lake-based system is divided into seven pressure zones, with pumping to upper zones separated by West, Central and East zone areas. East-West hydraulic connectivity and transfer/transmission capacity is maintained in several of the zones. Water is presently pumped throughout the system via two (2) water treatment plants (WTPs) and eleven thirteen (131) pumping stations (PSs), excluding those at the WTPs.   Storage facilities include two (2) clear wells at the treatment facilities, four (4) elevated tanks (ETs) and eleven twelve (121) reservoirs. This project is to conduct a hydraulic transient (surge) analysis for the proposed Stewart Road Booster Pumping Station (BPS) located on Stewart Road at Sixth Street, Collingwood, Ontario. The Town is undertaking the design and construction of upgrades for Stewart Road Reservoir and BPS, as well as a new 400 mm diameter watermain along Sixth Street from Georgian Meadows Drive to Tenth Line and along Tenth Line from Sixth Street to Mountain Road. The proposed BPS is required to allow further development in the central area of pressure zone 2 (Zone 2), and the proposed facility will initially service existing and Phase I water demands as per the Master Plan. 2020 System Curve and Transient Analysis at Anne Street Pumping Station | City of Barrie, ON, Canada

This project is to conduct a system (resistance) curve analysis and a hydraulic transient (surge) analysis for the proposed upgrades at Anne Street Booster Pumping Station (BPS) located at 164 Anne Street North, Barrie, Ontario. The Anne Street Reservoir and BPS was originally constructed in 1959 and is located within Zone 1 of the City’s water distribution system. The existing BPS pumps water into Zone 2 North (2N) by three vertical turbine pumps. The station also formerly housed Zone 3N pumps, which were removed during a 1984 modification. The 2013 Water Storage and Distribution Master Plan by AMEC (Master Plan) and subsequent 2019 Master Plan update by WSP have identified the need for a second Zone 3 North (3N) pumping station at the Anne Street Reservoir site to provide supply redundancy, fire flow demand, and system reinforcement. This project is to conduct a hydraulic analysis for the proposed 750 mm, 300 mm, and 200 mm diameter Zone 5 watermains on Goreway Drive between Castlemore Road and Countryside Drive. The proposed 750 mm watermain will serve as a sub-transmission main and will be constructed of concrete pressure pipe (CPP) and will span approximately 3,000 m from Castlemore Road to Countryside Drive. The proposed 300 mm watermain is to replace the existing 300 mm ductile iron (DI) watermain on Goreway Drive with a length of approximately 710 m from Countryside Drive to Rosegarden Drive. 2019 Pressure District 7 Water Supply Redundancy Study | City of Markham, ON, Canada

 The Regional Municipality of York (York Region, or Region) supplies water to nine area municipalities, including the City of Markham (Markham)’s and the City of Richmond Hill (RH)’s water systems. In turn, Markham and RH deliver water to individual consumers. Markham’s PD7 water system is supplied by the Region’s system via a single transmission main from Elgin Mills Road East and Highway 404, from hereon referred to as the Elgin Mills watermain. As there is no redundancy to the area, the supply should not be interrupted. Owing to a lack of redundancy and future anticipated growth around 19 th  Avenue and Highway 404, Markham has proposed a short-term solution to loop a 300 mm watermain with RH’s 300 mm watermain across Highway 404 close to Mobius Drive, from hereon referred to as the Mobius Drive watermain.
